Ministry of Health issued a statement on Thursday refuting claims by Saudi media about holding a joint press conference by Iran’s Health Minister Hassan Hashemi and his Saudi counterpart over Mina incident.
Saudi media had claimed that during a joint press conference with his Saudi counterpart, Hashemi had said that the deadly Hajj stampede in Mina was beyond human control and was the “will of God”.
The Ministry of Health strongly refuted the claims saying, in all the negotiations between Iranian and Saudi officials, it has been underlined that the incident was a human mistake due to inexperience of Saudi officials that could be avoided.
According to an announcement by Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, 465 Iranian pilgrims lost their lives in Mina incident; IRNA reported.
