Brig. Gen. Hossein Dehqan who was addressing a meeting of 11th Session of Coordination of Parliament, Ministries, and Executive Bodies in the occasion of upcoming National Day of Defense Industry marked in August 22, told the meeting that the depth and the strength of the country’s defense structures were firmly based on the resolve of the nation; “the imperialism spared no act of shame including sowing internal discord, imposed war, and cruel sanctions to isolate Iran in its own territorial geography; however, the victorious side, that was Iran, relied upon its Islamic ideology and the sagacious leadership of its former and present leaders in scoring huge success and in aborting their ruses; now, in terms of stability, we enjoy modest levels of security, and play considerable role in security equations in the region,” Dehqan told the meeting.

“Our armed forces would face ever-changing nature of threats through retaining its deterrent capabilities to precipitate the defeat of any campaign against the nation; now, we have surpassed the borders of new cutting-edge technology to emulate the heights of excellence,” he asserted.

“The infrastructure and capabilities provided the ministry to meet any need in defense and any exigency raised by the developments in the region, through a fully indigenized and smart approach, which would make it capable of defending the borders in a rather long battle and confrontation,” said the minister.

“Currently, the ministry has reduced the time needed from realization of an ideal to product through developing a brisk and agile organizational setting in an attempt to use the most competent forces in improving capabilities of armed forces, especially those of weapons,” said Dehqan who assured the meeting and the region that Iran’s capabilities had been merely defensive and would serve the peace and security of the region, with defensive diplomacy gaining strong footholds in this setting.
