According to a press release by the EU External Action Service (EEAS), Mogherini will visit the Islamic Republic of Iran on Tuesday, July 28.
The visit would come two weeks after Tehran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) on July 14 finalized the text of a comprehensive 159-page nuclear deal, dubbed the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
As the EU foreign policy chief, Mogherini coordinated the nuclear diplomacy with Iran on behalf of the sextet.
The Italian diplomat's visit "will provide an opportunity for exchanges on the implementation of the agreement, on which the High Representative will continue to play a coordinating role, and on regional and bilateral issues," the statement said.
During her visit, she will meet with Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and other Iranian officials, it added.
Before visiting Tehran, Mogherini will travel to Saudi Arabia on an official visit on Monday, 27 July, to meet Saudi officials.
