In a message on Friday night, President Rouhani congratulated the Iranian nation on the festive occasion of Eid al-Fitr, which marks an end to the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
The president said this year’s Eid al-Fitr, which celebrates “religious piety”, follows another auspicious occasion, namely the “feast of national will” that marked Iran’s “historic victory” in nuclear talks with major world powers which acknowledged Iran’s right to enjoy peaceful nuclear technology.
On July 14, Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) reached a conclusion over the text of a comprehensive 159-page deal on Tehran’s nuclear program.
President Rouhani said Iran’s diplomatic engagement with world powers resulted in a “national achievement and a symbol of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s legal and political capability and knowledge.”
“Today is a day that Iran’s (uranium enrichment) centrifuges are spinning and Iran’s economy is also on the verge of an upheaval toward far-reaching boom,” he added.
The text of the comprehensive nuclear deal between Iran and the six powers has recognized Iran’s right to enrich uranium on its soil and would also terminate all nuclear-related sanctions imposed on Iran after coming into force.
Experts believe that Iran's economic growth would rise remarkably after the final nuclear deal takes effect.
The comprehensive nuclear deal and subsequent termination of anti-Iran sanctions would also result in a hike in Iran's trade with the world and increase foreign investment in the country.
