The meeting was held with participation of Iran's Ambassador to Kuwait Ali-Reza Enayati and Director General of Kuwait Ports Authority Sheikh Yousef Abdullah Al Sabah.
Enayati referred to strategic ties between two Muslim nations of Iran and Kuwait, stressing the need to optimize navigation systems in two neighboring states to facilitate transportation of goods.
For his part, the Kuwaiti official welcomed further cooperation with Iran, expressing his country's readiness to develop sea transportation in the Persian Gulf region.
In line with widening trade relations between Iran and Kuwait, Ilam province in west of Iran started exporting herbivorous animals to Kuwait.
The two sides have also held joint economic sessions to review ways to widen relations.
