Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi says Iran and G5+1 will resume a new round of expert-level talks in the Swiss city of Geneva on Monday.

On Friday, Araqchi stated that the new round of talks between experts from Iran and the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council -- the United States, China, Russia, France and Britain -- plus Germany will seek to work out executive mechanisms for the landmark interim nuclear deal which was struck last month on Iran's nuclear energy program.
The latest round of expert-level talks between Iran and G5+1 was held from December 19 to 22 in Geneva.

Hamid Ba’idinejad, director general for political and international affairs at Iranian Foreign Ministry, led the Iranian delegation which included experts from nuclear, banking, oil and transportation sectors.

Stephen Clement, who is an aide to the European Union foreign policy chief, Catherine Ashton, headed the opposite negotiating team.

Under the Geneva deal, G5+1 have undertaken to lift some of the existing sanctions against the Islamic Republic in exchange for Iran agreeing to limit certain aspects of its nuclear activities during a six-month period.

It was also agreed that no more sanctions would be imposed on Iran within the same timeframe.
