The arrest of US intelligence officer, Ryan Fogle, in Russia has disturbed US efforts to re-gain the confidence of Moscow.

Russian public opinion surveys suggests that many people are so happy about this delicate operation of Russian security forces in detecting CIA extremely crude and clumsy recruitment attempts, Al-Alam reported.

Many political analysts also described the arrest as a great diplomatic victory for the Russia against the US in its political attempts to solve the pending crises in Middle East, including Syria.

The US failure also showed that Washington could not get good lessons from previous failed experiences over its interaction with Russian security services.

Fogle's comical disguise and old fashioned spy arsenal drew worldwide attention when his arrest was reported by Russian media on Tuesday.

The CIA officer was said to be working under the guise of a diplomat at the US embassy in Moscow. US media said he had been working at the embassy since 2011.

He was seized red-handed in Moscow the previous evening as he tried to recruit a counter-terrorism officer with an offer of $1m (£650,000), according to the Federal Security Service (FSB).

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry did not discuss the detention of a CIA agent in Moscow on suspicion of espionage on the sidelines of a meeting of the Arctic Council in Sweden on Tuesday.

Addressing journalists in the wake of the meeting with Kerry, Lavrov referring to the very clear nature of CIA aggressive act, adding that Mr. Kerry did not raise the case and I also decided that probably it will be redundant to discuss it."

"Everything is public. I think everybody understands everything," Lavrov said.
