VIDEO: 65 Passengers Released from Libyan Hijacked Plane in Malta

65 passengers have been released from the Libyan Afriqiyah Airways A320 plane by the two hijackers reportedly supporters of dead Dictator Muammar Gaddafi.

Abdel Salam al Marabet a Libyan politician is among the list of passengers but It is unclear whether he had actually been on the flight.

An official from Afriqiyah Airways said the two hijackers had expressed a willingness to release the passengers but that they will keep the pilot.

Reports say that two pro-gaddafi supporters have agreed to lay down arms and release the passengers.

A Libyan plane has landed at the Mediterranean island of Malta and that there appear to be two hijackers on board, Malta airport authorities said on Friday.

The Malta airport authority said all emergency teams had been dispatched to the site of what it called an "unlawful interference" on the airport tarmac.

Airport officials said the Afriqiyah Airways A320 flight has 118 passengers on board.
