Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qasemi
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qassemi said on Friday that the 10-year extension of Iran sanctions law, which authorizes the US president to impose bans on Iran, is against the nuclear accord that Tehran struck with the US and five other world powers -- Russia, China, France, Britain and Germany -- in July 2015.
US Senators on Thursday unanimously Passed renewal of ISA in voting, sending the measure to the White House for President Barack Obama to sign into law.
The US House of Representatives voted 419 to 1 last month to reauthorize ISA, which was first introduced in 1996.
Reportedly Obama administration congressional aides said they expected Obama would sign it when it reached his desk. The act is set to expire at the end of 2016.
