VIDEO: ISIS Attack on Shiite Pilgrims in Iraq Left 100 Martyrs, Tens Wounded

ISIS massive truck bomb blast targeted Shiite Pilgrims mostly Iranian returning from the Arbaeen commemoration in Karbala killed at least 100 people, mainly Shiite pilgrims and Iranians and wounded tens, south of Baghdad on Thursday, as Iraqi forces battle to retake Mosul from the Islamic State terrorists.

The huge truck bomb blast claimed by ISIS ripped through a petrol station where packed buses returning from the Arbaeen commemoration in Karbala were parked.

Most of the dead were Iranians, the largest contingent of foreigners in the Arbaeen pilgrimage, which is one of the world's largest religious events and culminated on Monday.

The attack took place near a village called Shomali near Hella about 120 kilometres (75 miles) southeast of Baghdad.
