The Russian air battalion began their bombardment by striking the terrorists at the Bustan Al Basha District, destroying a number of enemy vehicles near the eastern neighborhoods.
Following their airstrikes over Bustan Al Basha, the Russian Air Force turned their attention to the Hanano Youth Housing Complex, launching several attacks around this imperative area in east Aleppo.
Also Russian Jets struck Fatah Halab's positions inside the districts of Bab Al Nayrab, Suleiman Al Halabi, Sheikh Saeed, and Al Sakhour.
These airstrikes over east Aleppo last night mark the first time since the 24 hour ceasefire on Thursday that the Russian Air Force has targeted the militants.
Meanwhile Russia has announced that it has extended a humanitarian ceasefire, which was due to expire on Friday in Syria’s embattled city of Aleppo, for another day.
"The humanitarian pause in Aleppo will be extended for another day, starting from 8.00 a.m. local time (0500 GMT) until 7.00 p.m. (1600 GMT) on October 22,” Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Lieutenant General Sergei Rudskoi said at a press briefing in Moscow on Friday night.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Rudskoi said that terrorists were exploiting the humanitarian truce to prepare for a major assault in the eastern parts of the city, adding that during the past 24 hours alone, over 200 militants had come to several quarters of the city, including Mansur district and Al Kursi neighborhood.
A total of 1,200 militants, among them 30 bombers, are ready to participate in an attack from the militant-held part of the city, he said, adding that the terrorists are equipped with "tanks, armored vehicles and more than 20 trucks with machine-guns.”
