In the meantime, Syrian fighter jets and artillery units targeted ISIS gatherings in al-Sukhnah, the village of al-Tayibeh and near Arak oilfield.
ISIS repeated attacks on government positions in al-Talileh near Palmyra were repulsed by army men. Reports said terrorists were forced to push back after sustaining a number of casualties.
Also, positions of Ahrar al-Sham and Fatah al-Sham Front (the newly-formed al-Qaeda-affiliated terrorist group previously known as the al-Nusra Front) in Talbiseh, Deir Foul, Kafr Laha, Tal Zahab, al-Tayibeh al-Gharbiyeh in Northern and Northwestern Homs were shelled by Syrian artillery and missile units.
Syrian fighter jets also pounded Ahrar al-Sham's centers in Talbiseh, leaving six militants dead and destroying their arms and ammunition depot.
Today's attacks by the ISIS came after similar offensives by the terrorist group ended with their retreat and tens of casualties.
ISIS attacked government positions in Muhmiyeh al-Talileh with several bomb-laden cars, but the Syrian army troops targeted the suicide vehicles before they could approach their strongholds.
A pursuing attack by the terrorists in the region was strongly repelled by the Syrian soldiers, backed up by National Defense Forces.
Syrian fighter jets, for their part, pounded ISIS centers in al-Sha'er oilfield, destroying terrorists' tanks and armored vehicles.
The Syrian warplanes also targeted ISIS depot of arms and ammunition in Talbiseh, while gatherings of Fatah al-Sham Front in al-Rastan and Deir Foul were pounded in Syrian air raids; FNA reported.
