The US military says it launched attacks against what it had believed to be Islamic State (ISIS, ISIL , IS and Daesh)positions in northeast Syria. The missions were halted after Russia informed the US that Syrian military personnel and vehicles may have been hit.

Russia says more than 60 Syrian soldiers were killed in four air strikes. The US has relayed its "regret".

Syria says the deadly US airstrikes on Syrian soldiers could not be a technical error, and that the aggression was aimed at making the recent ceasefire fail.
