Syrian President Bashar Assad made a rare public appearance on Monday, attending prayers for the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha; Al-Alam News Network reports.
The prayers took place at a mosque in the Damascus suburb of Daraya.
The suburb, previously held by terrorists, reverted to government control last month after a four-year siege.
