Syrian Army troops repelled Daesh (ISIL / ISIS) offensives on government positions on the Eastern side of the ancient city of Palmyra (Tadmur), killing at least 60 of them and injuring many more.
ISIL terrorist group suffered a heavy death toll and its machinegun-equipped vehicles sustained major damage in failed attacks on army's strongholds near al-Sawameh.
ISIL pulled back the remaining pockets of its forces from the battlefield after the army shelled its positions heavily.
The Syrian soldiers also clashed with a group of terrorists in Ein al-Dananeer in Ein al-Nesr, while terrorists' machinegun-equipped vehicles were targeted by the Syrian army men in Housh al-Dugli.
Reports said earlier today that Syrian Army troops repelled ISIL's offensives in Eastern Homs after inflicting dozens of casualties on the terrorists.
ISIL's offensives from Rahoum and Unq al-Hawa on government forces' strongholds in Jubb al-Jarreh and Maksar al-Hassaan were fended off by the Syrian army troops, leaving scores of ISIL's fighters dead or wounded.
A large volume of ISIL's ammunition also was detonated in the attacks, FNA reported.
