So far, many families have left eastern Aleppo while a number of militants have laid down their weapons and handed themselves in to government forces.

United Nations Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura estimates that over 400,000 people have been killed in the Syrian conflict. The UN has stopped its official casualty count in Syria, citing its inability to verify the figures it receives from various sources.
The civilians crossed into Aleppo’s Salaheddine neighborhood and were taken to makeshift centers.
Between 200,000 and 300,000 people are believed to still reside in eastern Aleppo, with the UN warning that food supplies will run out in the militant-held reign in mid-August.
According to London based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a monitoring group, Takfiri militant groups are preventing civilians from fleeing Aleppo through the corridors.
