On Sunday night, Syrian Republican Guard, backed by the National Defense Forces (NDF), stormed the village of Hawsh Nasri in the East Ghouta region of Greater Damascus.

Under the cover of night, the Syrian Armed Forces struck the village from two different flanks in order to overwhelm the enemy defenses; it resulted in a fierce battle that has now spread into the morning hours.

By capturing Hawsh Nasri village, SAA are in position to attack the key hilltop of Tal Kurdi, which is located at the northern sector of the East Ghouta, Al Masdar reports.

Tal Kurdi is imperative to the Syrian Armed Forces due to its proximity to the key town of Duma, which is considered the main stronghold of terrorist coalition of Jaysh Al Islam.

It’s important to note that the Syrian Armed Forces were able to achieve most of their success in the East Ghouta recently, without any assistance from the Syrian Air Force.
