The Russian Air Force continued their non-stop aerial campaign over the northern countryside of Aleppo on Wednesday, targeting the rebels of Fatah Halab at a number of sites near the strategic Castillo.
These Russian airstrikes were followed by a powerful ground assault by the Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Mechanized Division and Republican Guard at the Layramoun-Bani Zaid axis, Al Masdar reports.
With the Russians pounding the rebels, the Syrian Armed Forces were able to seize a number of small buildings located near the Layramoun-Bani Zaid axis, while also alleviating the pressure applied by Fatah Halab on the YPG’s (Kurdish Forces) positions.
Heavy clashes are still ongoing at the Layramoun-Bani Zaid axis, as the Syrian Armed Forces continue to tighten the siege around east Aleppo.
