The Syrian Arab Army’s 555th Regiment of the 4th Mechanized Division, backed by the Syrian Desert Hawks, Syrian Marines, and Syrian National Defense Forces (NDF), continued their large-scale offensive in the west Raqqa countryside on Sunday, targeting the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham’s (ISIL, ISIS , IS and Daesh) positions along the Sukhanah-Tabaqa Road.

According to an Al-Masdar, the Syrian Armed Forces are currently targeting Forsaa, where the Islamic State terrorists are attempting to repel the government’s advance towards the Tabaqa Military Airport.

So far, the Syrian Armed Forces have yet to make any significant advances towards the Tabaqa Military Airport; however, the latter is attempting to build a presence along the Sukhanah-Tabaqa Road, which has long been under the control of the Islamic State terrorists.
