"The message of the Muslim people of Iran is surely that the Palestinian nation is not alone, the Iranian people will remain beside the world's oppressed people, the oppressed Palestinian nation and we will achieve victory in light of resistance and standing up," President Rouhani told reporters during a rally in Tehran on Friday attended by millions of Iranians to mark the International Quds Day.
He reiterated that the Muslim people of Iran have regional security as one of their ideal, and said, "One of the ways for restoring security to the region is that Muslim people could stay in their own homeland."
President Rouhani said that the Muslim people of Palestine have been away from their homeland for 70 years, "Unfortunately the occupiers who have occupied this land (Palestine) do not abide by any international and humanitarian principles."
The Iranian president said that Israel is a base for the arrogant powers and the US in the region, adding, "Today any country that fights against this base and any country that wants the Muslim nation (of Palestine) to have stability and security in the region will not be favored by the global arrogance."
President Rouhani said that the Muslim nations have distanced from the ideal of the liberation of Palestine due to the rift among Muslims, presence of Takfiri and terrorist groups in the region and the compromise path, adding, "We have no option other than unity of Muslims, the path of resistance, Jihad and fighting the terrorist and Takfiri groups in order to achieve this ideal."
Millions of Iranians have taken to the streets in all Iranian cities across the country on the International Quds Day on Friday to voice support for the Palestinian nation against the Israeli regime.
Iranians across the country, including in the capital Tehran, alongside other people around the world are holding massive anti-Israel rallies on the last Friday of Ramadan in opposition to the continued occupation of the Palestinian land by Israel.
The International Quds Day was started by the late Founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, in 1979 as a way of expressing solidarity with the Palestinians and underscoring importance of the holy Quds to Muslims.
International Quds Day is an annual event opposing Israel's occupation of Beitul-Muqaddas. Anti-Zionist rallies and demonstrations are held on the last Friday of Ramadan in Muslim and Arab countries around the world, and especially in Iran.
Iran Tehran, demonstrators chant slogans in condemnation of the Zionists' crimes in the occupied Palestinian lands.
The fasting people are carrying placards, and chanting 'Down with the US' and 'Down with Israel'.
Demonstrators are also stressing their readiness for defending the Palestinian cause.
They are also shouting protest against the silence shown by the international community and the so-called advocates of human rights against the crimes committed in the occupied lands.
