During the late afternoon, a special forces unit of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) blew up a large takfiris tunnel in the town of Madyara in East Ghouta, Damascus.
Remarkably, the tunnel was located just a few hundred meters east of a SAA military base in northern Irbeen, a district neighbouring Madyara.
The blast was so large it could be heard across eastern Damascus, with several residents

saying the ground could be felt shaking beneath them.
According to a military source in Damascus, the tunnel not only sat beneath a building but also had a built-in reinforced roof to protect it from potential airstrikes.
Flags and merchandise found inside the tunnel indicated it had been used by members of Jabhat al-Nusra to hold meetings and store weapons.
The tunnel explosion follows some SAA advances yesterday at Muhammadiyah in the southern part of East Ghouta; Abna reported.
