Another sickening mass grave committed by the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and Syria has been discovered in Suluk, nearly 50 km to the north of the group’s stronghold of Raqqa, Syria.
The town has been under ISIS control before taken by Kurdish fighters, backed by US airstrikes, last year.
According to eye witnesses, ISIS gathered its victims, blindfolded and alive, in the cliff and shot above their heads to intimidate them. They would then start running and fall over the edge.
The number of people killed cannot be exactly identified as no one knows how deep the gorge is.
ISIS has repeatedly committed atrocities in the areas it controls in Syria and Iraq. In April, the Syrian Army unearthed a mass grave with dozens of decayed corpses, including men and women, in the desert city of Palmyra.
The group also brutally executes its own members who flee battleground by burying them alive or chopping them off or even. Homosexuals are exclusively thrown off high roofs; abna24 reported.
