A horrible tornado touched down on Monday (May 9) near Katie, Oklahoma, swirling through fields as it moved northeast, crossing an interstate, NBC reported.
An NBC affiliate caught the funnel cloud on video near Katie, which is about 70 miles south (113 km) Oklahoma City. Later, the station recorded a funnel cloud in a field near Mill Creek, about 90 miles (145 km) southeast of Oklahoma City. Much of eastern Oklahoma was under either tornado or severe thunderstorm watches.
Abc News also reported, a tornado that tore through Wynnewood, Oklahoma, left one man dead and killed some livestock, while another touched down near Connerville also killed a man, officials said.
The victim was a 76-year-old man who lived by himself in a trailer when the tornado struck, according to Garvin County Sheriff Larry Rhodes.
A dozen homes were severely damaged or destroyed, said Rhodes. He adding that the damage was "extensive" given how rural the area is, according to abc News.
