After Palmyra's liberation on Sunday, the Syrian Marines were given orders by the High Command of the Syrian army to redeploy to the Kurdish Mountain (Jabal Al-Akrad) and Turkmen Mountain (Jabal Al-Turkmen) in the Northern part of Latakia province.
Unlike in Palmyra, where they were a support unit, the Syrian Marines played a major role in an offensive in Northern Latakia, leading the recapture of several villages, hilltops, and roadways en route to Idlib and the Turkish borders.
The return of the Syrian Marines to the Latakia province means that the military operations Jisr Al-Shughour will likely restart as they look to capture the city from Jeish al-Fatah (Army of Conquest) terrorist group.
The Syrian army's military array in Northern Latakia has not changed at all, but their allies from the 103rd Brigade of the Republican Guard and the 48th Special Forces Regiment are still in position to capture the strategic town of Kabani and retake all villages along a highway leading to Jisr Al-Shughour.
Informed sources disclosed that infighting is on growth among terrorist groups' commanders in Idlib province, while the groups have been admitting their losses and casualties on their social media pages during the recent days. Such incidents have happened on several occasions, including their huge defeat in Sheikh Sindiyan on the western outskirts of Jisr al-Shughour city.
Reports also said the Syrian soldiers are currently, pushing back the militants, pressing North from the village of Touma towards the militant stronghold of Kinsibba, which is considered the terrorists' last line of defense before the important city of Jisr al-Shughour in Idlib province, FNA reported.
