Amid ongoing tensions between Zionist troops and Palestinian protesters in the occupied territories, Israeli forces have killed two more young Palestinian men in the central part of the West Bank.

Witnesses said Israeli soldiers fired “dozens” of shots at the pair on Thursday after they allegedly carried out a stabbing attack near the illegal Israeli settlement of Ariel, which lies adjacent to the Palestinian city of Salfit, Arabic-language Ma’an news agency reported.

An unnamed Israeli army spokesperson said an Israeli woman was injured, without providing any information about the condition or identity of the settler.

Medical authorities said Tuesday that a young Palestinian man, shot and critically injured by Israeli forces during a raid on the Qalandiya refugee camp north of al-Quds (Jerusalem) two weeks ago, had died of his wounds.

They said Nahid Fawzi Imteir succumbed to his injuries at Hadassah Medical Center in al-Quds.

Two Palestinians were fatally shot on March 14 as they allegedly opened fire on and sought to run over Israeli troopers near the illegal Kiryat Arba settlement on the outskirts of al-Khalil, located about 30 kilometers (19 miles) south of al-Quds.

"The Palestinian Ministry of Health identified the Palestinians as Qasim Farid Jaber and Ameer Fuad al-Junaidi from al-Khalil, and Yousef Mustafa Tarayra, 18, from the town of Bani Naim, east of al-Khalil."

A Zionist soldier was injured during the exchange of gunfire between the Palestinian pair and the Israeli forces.

Moments later, Israeli military forces shot and killed another Palestinian youth in the same area as he allegedly tried to carry out a similar car ramming attack. Two Israeli troopers were injured in the second assault.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health identified the Palestinians as Qasim Farid Jaber and Ameer Fuad al-Junaidi from al-Khalil, and Yousef Mustafa Tarayra, 18, from the town of Bani Naim, east of al-Khalil.

Tensions have heightened in the occupied Palestinian territories due to Israel’s imposition in August 2015 of restrictions on the entry of Palestinian worshipers into the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in East al-Quds.

At least 204 Palestinians, including women and children, have lost their lives at the hands of Zionist forces since October last year, Press TV reported.
