The airstrikes killed a notorious leader of the terrorist group known as Mudallah al-Rabi'e (AKA “Abu Ahmad”) who was the ISIS top commander inside the city of Mohassan.
Also on Wednesday, the Syrian army ambushed a group of ISIS terrorists in one of the neighborhoods of Deir Ezzur city, and inflicted a heavy death toll on the militants.
A group of the ISIS terrorists, who tried hard to infiltrate from al-Maqaber region into al-Rasafeh neighborhood to attack the army's concentration centers, were trapped in a circle of the Syrian government forces and sustained heavy casualties in the clash.
Earlier reports said that the Syrian aircraft, in a fresh round of combat flights, targeted the ISIS strongholds in the Eastern part of Deir Ezzur province, inflicting major damage on the terrorists' military equipment.
The Syrian fighter jets struck the ISIS gathering centers and lines of defense near Beit Dogheim and al-Jafra, which ended in the killing or wounding of several militants and destroyed a number of their machinegun-equipped vehicles, FNA reported.
