N. Korea HYDROGEN BOMB Caused 5.1 Magnitude Earthquake

North Korea said Wednesday it had successfully carried out its first hydrogen bomb test, marking a major step forward in its nuclear development, if confirmed.

"The republic's first hydrogen bomb test has been successfully performed at 10:00 am on January 6, 2016, based on the strategic determination of the Workers' Party," a state television news reader announced.

North Korea hydrogen Bomb test reportedly causing 5.1 magnitude man made earthquake.

This thermonuclear weapon was detonated today. Explosion triggered 5.1 magnitude earthquake which was felt for miles.

The 'successful' explosion took place at the Punggye-ri nuclear test site.Epicentre was 30 miles north west of Kilju city in north east of the country.
