Russia said it launched strikes on underground hideouts, operation centers, weapon production plants, firing positions, artillery, munition warehouses, ammunition and supplies of the so-called ISIS organization, said Igor Konashenkov, a ministry’s spokesman.
He added that in the suburbs of Damascus aircraft destroyed two ammunition depots and a workshop manufacturing improvised explosive devices. Precision strikes completely destroyed the targets, he said.
On September 30, Russia carried out its first airstrikes in Syria, claiming to target ISIS positions in northeastern Homs province.
US officials have expressed displeasure at the Russian intervention in Syria, especially over reports that Russian warplanes have hit anti-regime rebels backed by Washington.
