According to the Russian foreign minister, Western countries attempt to artificially maintain dominance through means such as sanctions and military force.
"We see attempts to maintain dominance through artificial means, including by pressuring other countries, by using sanctions and even by the use of military force in violation of international law, in violation of the UN Charter. This adds chaos to international relations," Lavrov said, according to Sputnik.
New centers of power are objectively emerging in the Asia-Pacific region, Lavrov said, adding that a polycentric world is currently starting to develop, however, the process will be quite long.
"We are witnessing the end of a very long era, the end of an era of dominance by the historic West. Economic, financial, political dominance," the Russian top diplomat said at the Terra Scientia International Youth Forum.
