ISIS has released a new propaganda video showing 21 caged Kurdish Peshmerga fighters being paraded in the streets of Kirkuk. They are suspected to have been beheaded by the Islamists after they were paraded but it is yet to be confirmed.

While they are still alive inside the cages on trucks, they are interviewed by an ISIS militant holding a microphone featuring the group's logo, IB Times reports.

The nine-minute video, entitled "Healing the Chest of Those who Believe" in Kurdish accompanied by Arabic subtitles, also runs captions giving details about each hostage.

It is still unclear when or where exactly the executions took place in Kirkuk. The video is seen as being largely consistent with the group's earlier execution footage.

However, the latest beheading claim cannot be independently verified.

Kurdish Peshmerga forces have been engaged in a bitter battle with ISIS militants for the past several months. The restive Kirkuk province is located along the border of Kurdish northern Iraq and is home to Kurds, Turks and Arabs where all lay claims.
