Militants from the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) terrorist group have blown up several shrines, mosques, and historic sites in gruesome acts of terrorism in the volatile northern parts of Iraq.
ISIL militants overrunning parts of the troubled northern Iraq have recently posted photos of their acts of terrorism on the Internet showing the destruction of several holy and historic sites in the country.
