The development comes as Syrian army and insurgent groups in al-Waar region of Homs have reached a 72-hour truce to allow the armed elements to safely retreat from the entire area.
This is while Syrian government troops have targeted insurgent fortifications in the southern Tasil town in the outskirts of Daraa City.
Additionally, fierce clashes have been reported between Syrian army units and insurgent gangs in Lattakia countryside near watchtower 45.
Further in the outskirts of Syrian capital Damascus, government troops engaged armed elements of the insurgent group so-called Islamic Front in the al-Meliha town, killing numerous terrorist forces.
Meanwhile, following successful operations in the vicinity of Aleppo Central Prison where Syrian forces broke the months-long siege of the compound and continued on Saturday its operations against remaining insurgents in Aleppo and Daraa regions, killing or wounding many armed elements and destroying their armed vehicles.
Syria’s state news agency SANA further cited a military source as saying that army units also targeted insurgent staging areas in Mare'e, Industrial city, al-Jandoul and Kfar Hamra, Khan al-Asal and al-Atareb in Aleppo.
