The figure was revealed in a statistics report released Friday by Defense for Children International (DCI) on the eve of Palestinian Children's Day on April 5, confirming that Palestinian kids continue to be subjected to brutal and inhuman abuses carried out by the Zionist occupation forces.
Nearly 700 Palestinian children aged between 12 and 17 years old are annually detained and interrogated in Israeli detention and debriefing centers, according to the report.
The report further documented that 230 Palestinian children, under the age of 18 years, are held behind Tel Aviv regime’s prison bars since the beginning of 2014, recording a sharp rise in the number of detained children in comparison with 2013, when 190 young kids were detained in Israeli jails.
In 2013, five Palestinian children were also killed by Israeli gunfire, while two children have so far been killed by Israeli occupiers since the beginning of 2014, most recently was Youssef Shawamra.
The Israeli occupation authority, meanwhile, has continued its violations, threatening the right of Palestinian children to live in safety, by carrying out its policies of demolition, displacement, arrest, and Judaization to frustrate the Palestinian nation.
