Residents of Yabroud who were forced out of their homes and city by foreign-backed insurgents and terrorist groups have begun returning back to their homes after the Syrian Army liberated the city in mid-March and restored stability and security in the area.
Returned residents expressed pleasure to return back to their neighborhoods and inspect their houses, also thanking the Syrian Armed forces for liberating the key city near the Lebanese border and flushing out the terrorists, according to a SANA report on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Syrian technical services workshops are continuing around the clock in a bid to repair all services that provide permanent return for the citizens.
The city of Yabroud and its surroundings in the northern countryside of Damascus were restored to the army’s control on Sunday March 16th, 2014 following a series of special operations which units of the armed forces carried out in cooperation with civil defense forces.
Earlier, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Syrian Armed Forces, Defense Minister Gen. Fahed Jassem al-Freij, and officers from the General Command visited the city of Yabroud to inspect the army units there.
