In the Saturday operations government troops destroyed an insurgent staging center in northern Lattakia suburbs of al-Jabal al-Kabir, eliminating the entire group of armed militants and destroying their vehicles and weaponry in the process, SANA reported, citing a military source.

In another operation, army units further killed and injured numerous militants in the areas of al-Dar al-Kabira, Talbiseh, al-Rastan, Um Sharshouh, al-Thawra, al-Houleh and Beit Qasswat in the countryside of Homs.

According to the report, a number of insurgent vehicles carrying arms and ammunition were also destroyed in the operation.

In Aleppo meanwhile, attempts by two militant groups to infiltrate into safe areas in al-Hamidieyh and al-Sayyed were thwarted by vigilant Syrian army units stationed in the area. All members of the two insurgent gangs were either killed or injured.

Other army units around Aleppo also attacked and razed staging areas of armed militants in the vicinity of the Central Prison and the Industrial City as well as a number of other surrounding areas, including Rasm al-Abboud, Hreitan, Kafr Hamra, al-Atareb, Babis, al-Wdeihi and Kafrnaha, inflicting heavy losses on the insurgents and their military hardware.

Also in areas surrounding Daraa city, an army unit foiled yet another attempt by foreign-backed militants to infiltrate into al-Manshiyeh neighborhood, eliminating most of the armed insurgents.
