Afkham told reporters in a weekly press conference on Tuesday that the recent statement by US president, who had said there were secret talks going on between the two countries, is incorrect.
She said what happened between Tehran and Washington over Iran’s nuclear program took place in Geneva within the framework of negotiations with the world powers, adding that Iran’s views on talks with the US are quite clear and transparent.
In response to a question about the recent remarks of the Israeli President Shimon Peres who voiced readiness to meet with President Hassan Rouhani, Afkham stressed that no changes have been made in Iran’s views and stance towards the regime.
Tehran has never recognized the Israeli regime as a state and believes that the very establishment of the regime is based on aggression and occupation, the spokesperson added.
She said Iran views the Israeli regime as a quite fake regime, maintaining its existence in the occupied lands through oppression of Palestinians.
Afkham pointed out that such remarks are useless attempts to end the Zionist regime’s isolation.
