An Iraqi TV channel has caught the moment of the twin bomb attack that rocked Syrian capital Damascus, claimed by al-Qaeda-linked al-Nusra terrorist group.
The Iraq-based al-Itijah channel was airing a live show from Damascus when the first bomb exploded, as the video shows. The program is again disrupted by the second blast which seems to be closer to the building where the program is being broadcasted.
Two terror car bombs went off near Umawiyeen Square and the state broadcasting network building in Damascus.
According to the official Syrian news agency SANA the bombings were carried out by two suicide terrorists onboard their vehicles.
SANA said the blasts caused “only material damage to the wall of the General Establishment of Radio and Television, with no injuries reported.”
Citing “a source on the ground,” SANA estimated the amount of explosives used in each car at 100 kilograms, noting that one car was a Hyundai and the other was a Honda.
