After a meeting in Paris, French President Francois Hollande and foreign ministers from the three Arab countries agreed on the need to strengthen international support for the opposition to allow it to face attacks by the government, the Elysee palace said in a statement.
The statement said they agreed on the “need to remain firm with the Syrian government to have it commit to negotiations on finding a political solution to the Syrian crisis.
It claimed the government’s “obstinance” was helping “extremist movements” and “threatens regional and international security.”
Syria and other countries, however, pointed finger at certain Arab and Western governments over dispatching terrorists into the country during the two and half years of foreign-hatched war.
Syria has been gripped by deadly turmoil since 2011.
According to the United Nations, more than 100,000 people have been killed and millions of others displaced in the violence.
Reports indicate that Western powers and their regional allies - especially Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey - are supporting the militants operating inside the country.
