Al-Alam has been proved its ability in coverage of many regional and international events, al-Hassani said during a visit to al-Alam headquarters in Tehran on Monday.
He noted the al-Alam has turned into one of media attracting numerous audiences in different countries throughout the world.
The Omani official also praised the efforts made by al-Alam personnel to improve the news network’s ranking among international media.
In a meeting with al-Alam Director Dr. Seyyed Ahmad Sadat, he pointed that Iranians and Omanis enjoy historical relations, adding that his trip to Iran is aimed at deepening mutual ties and cooperation especially in the field of information dissemination.
Arab nations in the Middle East and North Africa have welcomed the Tehran-based Arab-language news network, but certain Western countries have tried to stop the freedom of expression through halting the broadcast of some Iranian news channels via their satellites.
Iranian satellite channels have come under a wave of attacks by European governments and satellite companies since January 2012, and have been taken off the air in several Western countries, including Britain, France, Germany and Spain.
