Rights group in Bahrain announced that security forces have detained dozens of activists in Dar Kulaib, a village situated in the western side of the kingdom.

According to Bahrain Center for Human Rights, Bahraini police assailed houses in Dar Kulaib and detained 22 activists.

Security forces in Bahrain have launched massive attack to arrest opposition activists over the past two weeks.

The fresh wave of arrests comes as Bahrain parliamentarians banned all protests in the capital, Manama to allegedly “safeguard people and businesses.”

Reports posted on twitter suggest that the bill has been signed and given a go-ahead by the King, thought it has not been confirmed yet.

According to Bahrain State News Agency, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa also signed a bill to hold regime-affilited social media activities.

Last week, at least 100 protesters were injured as Saudi-backed Bahraini police attacked protesters in several villages across the country including Abu-Saibah and Bilad al-Qadeem, according to a human rights group.

The Bahraini uprising began in mid-February 2011, when the people, inspired by the popular revolutions that toppled the dictators of Tunisia and Egypt during the Arab Spring , started holding massive anti-government demonstrations.

The Manama regime launched a brutal crackdown on the peaceful protests and called in Saudi-led Arab forces from neighboring states.
