On Wednesday, the North Korean leader had a “cordial talk” with Abdullah al-Ahmad, the head of the Syrian delegation and deputy general secretary of Syria's ruling Baath Party, according to the North's Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
Foreign delegations from all across the globe headed to Pyongyang to attend the ceremony with marked the end of the Fatherland Liberation War.
The Korean media outlet said that Abdullah relayed warm greetings of the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad whose country is engaged in a tough battle against foreign-backed militants.
The Syrian delegation head said he believed that Damascus and Pyongyang would continue cooperation and vowed to cement ties between the two nations.
During the meeting, the Korean leader exchanged views with the guests on bolstering bilateral ties and commonalities on regional developments.
