Britain and France are deeply involved in forging the terrorism within Syria and they cannot be part of a solution to end the crisis, the Syrian ambassador to the United Nations has said.
Bashar al-Ja’afari said on Wednesday that France and Britain cannot be objective, impartial, and neutral in their stance toward what is happening in Syria.
“When France and Britain are deeply involved in forging the terrorism within Syria, helping the terrorist, providing them with weapons and political support, that means France and Britain are not the right suitable powers to intervene with this regard. They cannot accuse the Syrian government of something that they judge or call it allegations. They are judging the Syrian government of being behind it,” al-Jaafari said.
“They are an integral part of the problem, not an integral part of the solution,” he added.
Al-Jaafari said the two countries support terrorism in Syria and that the West is seeking an Iraq scenario in his country.
“They want to repeat the same scenario that they applied to Iraq in the early nineties,” he added.
Syria crisis started as pro-reform protests but with interventions by the United States, UK and their regional and Western allies it soon turned to a massive insurgency which took in numerous terrorist groups from all over Europe and the Middle East to wage one of the bloodiest wars the region has ever experienced.
The war, which many fear is turning to a “war of hatred”, has already taken more than 90,000 lives.
