Iraqi government has prepared an official complaint to present to the UN Security Council over the illegal entry of PKK members to the Kurdistan region, Adnan al-Sarraj, a senior member of Iraqi State of Law Coalition told Al-Alam.
“Iraqi Foreign Ministry is also set to send a report to Arab League and Organization of Islamic Countries in this regards to defend its sovereignty,” the official added.
He also added that Iraq has already warned Turkey that the entry of PKK militants, which took place after approval of Turkish government, will disturb the mutual relations whereas Iraq will be allowed to defend its territorial integrity through every means.
The Iraqi government issued a statement earlier and confirmed its rejection of the withdrawal and the presence of armed men of PKK group inside Iraqi territory.
It said while the Iraqi government welcomes any settlement that ends the PKK-Turkey conflict, it “does not accept the entry of armed groups into its territory”.
The first group out of the roughly 2,000 PKK militants who are departing Turkey as part of a peace drive aimed at ending the 29-year conflict with Ankara arrived in north Iraq on Tuesday.
