In an exclusive interview with al-Alam News Channel on Monday, Sheikh Hani Hamid al-Thamer, Grand Ayatollah Sistani’s representative to Diyala province of Iraq, described holding the International Scholars and Islamic Awakening Conference as a blessed move originating from the teachings of the Holy Quran.

He emphasized that according to the recommendations of the Holy Quran, the sole way to ward off sedition is understanding and dialogue, eve with non-Muslims.

The representative of Grand Ayatollah Sistani described scholars as the pillars of awakening in life of the Islamic Umma and as pioneers of Islamic awakening, adding that, “with his most auspicious act, Imam Khomeini (RA) brought about the flourishing of Islamic Awakening in the world, and his way has continued with the leadership of Imam Khamenei.”

“Imam Khamenei’s guidelines in today’s conference led scholars to the right path. A path that directs them to fulfillment of their duty of unifying Muslims,” Sheikh Hamid al-Thamer stressed.
