Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has arrived in the Venezuelan capital of Caracas to take part in the inauguration ceremony of the Latin American country’s new President Nicolas Maduro.

Upon his arrival, Ahmadinejad congratulated the Venezuelan nation on holding a successful election and also expressed felicitations to Nicolas Mandura whom he described as a dear brother, who has gained the trust of the big Venezuelan nation.

“Venezuela is on the eve of a glorious way and has an important historic mission”, president Ahmadinejad said.

“The Venezuelan nation should at first progress rapidly to make a prosperous, advanced, rich, and powerful country. Secondly, it should keep the flag of justice and freedom raised in Latin America,” the Iranian president noted.

Prior to his departure, Ahmadinejad said, “[Iran’s] relation with Venezuela…symbolizes Iran’s relation with Latin America.”

“This remark does not signify that our entire relations with Latin America are conditioned on relations with Venezuela, but relation with this country symbolizes Iran’s relation with Latin America,” he noted.

The Islamic Republic of Iran enjoys expanding relations with Venezuela in industrial, business, energy, cultural, and political areas, the Iranian president said.
