A Bahraini regime’s court has sentenced a female activist to three-months in prison on charges of insulting a public employee.
The regime’s court sentenced the activist Zainab Al-Khawaja to three-months in prison. She was accused of insulting a public employee, Al Alam News Network reported.
Zainab Al-Khawaja’s trial was held after Al-Khalifa regime’s thugs nabbed her during a sit-in protest outside the Cabinet and Premier Building of “Al-Qudaybiyah” held in protest at the non-delivery of martyr Mahmoud Al-Jaziri’s body to his family.
Meanwhile, Human Rights Watch (HRW) announced that the Bahraini regime has not enforced any changes, especially for the release of political inmates.
Sara Lea Whitson, the executive director of the organization in the Middle East and North Africa, voiced concern over Zainab Al-Khawaja’s arrest, saying “the organization has witnessed collective punishment of people by the regime’s security apparatus in villages”.
Abdul Hadi Al-Khawaja, the female Bahraini activist’s father, is also one of the eight Bahraini opposition figures who’s been sentenced to life imprisonment on charges of plotting to topple the regime.
