In an exclusive interview with al-Alam, Nafez Azzam said, “resisting against the Zionist regime continues in freedom and in jails and the current ceasefire does not mean the conflict is over”.
He pointed to a “severe condition” in Israeli jails and said, “The national movement of prisoners have made many sacrifices and Arafat Jaradat’s martyrdom was one of them”. “Resistance and sacrifices will continue after Jaradat’s death,” he added.
According to medical reports, 30-year-old Arafat Jaradat was tortured to death in Israeli regime’s Megido prison on Saturday. He was arrested on February 18 on suspicion he was involved in throwing stones at Israeli troopers.
Azzam accused Israeli authorities of “killing Palestinian prisoners in many direct and indirect ways” and said, “ the Zionists know that Palestinians will never surrender and continue their resistance”.
