Bahraini revolutionary people have staged fresh pro-democracy demonstrations in different parts of the country to express their solidarity with detainees held without charge in al-Khalifa regime’s prisons, al-Alam reports.
Pro-democracy demonstrators in Karzakan, al-Sanabis, al-Dair, Sitra and other parts of the country called for the accountability and prosecution of those involved in the killings of innocent citizens including high-ranking authorities.
Demonstrators also called for the withdrawal of Saudi occupying troops form Bahrain and urged the UN Security Council’s member states and human rights organizations to act immediately to stop the killings of civilians by the Bahraini regime.
Al-Khalifa regime’s troops suppressed the demonstrations by firing live bullets and teargas which led to some injuries among the marchers.
Anti-regime protesters have been holding peaceful pro-democracy demonstrations across Bahrain since mid-February 2011, calling for an end to the al-Khalifa dynasty's over-40-year rule, end of discrimination, establishment of justice and a democratically-elected government as well as freedom of detained protesters.
So far, tens of people have been killed, hundreds have gone missing and thousands of others have been injured at the hands of Saudi-backed Bahraini regime’s troops.
