Majid Ali Askar who is head of Dawa Party in Wasit Province said, “Our sources have found that some groups from the illegal Baath Party tempt unemployed youths to go to al-Anbar and take part in the protests for a hundred dollars”. Unemployed youths struggle with sever poverty and so they are easily persuaded to do so, he added.
Askar said, Baath Party enjoyed support of several other countries that provide these people not only with money, but food and other services in return for going to demonstrations.
He added, the move was part of a conspiracy that targeted country’s unity and tried to divide Iraq by flaming sectarian divisions.
