Isis has once again been expelled from the Euphrates River Valley after the Syrian Arab Army launched a massive counter-offensive in southeast Deir Ezzor.

(AMN) -- Led by elements of the Tiger Forces and Liwaa Al-Quds (Palestinian paramilitary), the Syrian Arab Army launched a big assault on Friday morning to recapture all of the territory they recently lost to Isis in the region.

Not long after launching this attack, the Syrian Arab Army had liberated a large chunk of the territory captured by Isis, including the key town of Al-Salihiyah.

According to a military source, after the Tiger Forces recaptured all of the territory that was lost to Isis, they handed over the towns to the 17th Division, Republican Guard, Al-Ridah Forces, and Hezbollah.

Isis is now confined to a large area (approximately 7,000 square kilometers) between the Deir Ezzor and Homs governorates.
